Family Counseling
We offer counseling to assist families in a variety of areas, including relationships and roles, parenting styles and discipline, communication, violence or abuse, and blended family adjustment.
- Family Violence Services. In situations of family violence, we offer services to both the victim and the batterer. The focus of the group is to change behavior to stop the cycle of abuse.
- Family Counseling. We believe that through communication and coping skills development, your family life can be improved and maintained. Through individual and group counseling, families identify problems and develop plans to correct them.
- Children of Divorcing Parents. Educational and consultation services to divorcing couples with children help provide insight to parents on how to minimize the trauma of divorce on their children.
- Mediation Services. Designed to help divorced parents find ways to communicate effectively with one another, this program addresses the resolution of differences in regards to their children.
- Screening, Assessment and Support Services (SASS). Available to Effingham County only, SASS is a 90-day intensive program targeting youth at risk of psychiatric hospitalization to ensure they receive the least restrictive and most appropriate level of care. The majority of SASS services is provided in the community in an environment significant to the youth, such as at home or school.
