Our Services
At Heartland Human Services, our focus is on the individual, and we customize treatment plans based on each individual’s needs. We offer a variety of community-based programs and services in the following program areas:
Mental Health. Our mental health programs are designed to meet the needs of each adult, youth or child. We offer outpatient counseling for people of all ages and 24-hour residential services to adults suffering from persistent mental illnesses.
Addiction Treatment/Prevention. Our approach to addiction treatment incorporates treatment, support for families and friends of an individual with a drug or alcohol problem, and prevention services educating youth about the effects of addiction.
Family Counseling. We offer counseling to assist families in a variety of areas, including relationships and roles, parenting styles and discipline, communication, violence or abuse, and blended family adjustment.
HIV/AIDS Case Management. Through the Effingham CARE Consortium, a federally funded program administered by HHS, any individual regardless of financial status with verified HIV or AIDS may receive Case Management Support Services, which provides information, referrals and assistance in making linkages with physicians and other social service resources in local communities.
Older Adult Programs. We understand that older people are more vulnerable to mental illness, which is why we are especially sensitive to the mental health needs of the elderly. We offer psychiatric assessments for people age 60 and older. We also offer training and support services to family caregivers.
