Heartland Human Services, a local leader in behavioral healthcare services, is seeking full-time and part-time Behavioral Health Technicians to join our team.

These multi-faceted positions provide independent living services to consumers within a residential setting. The successful candidates will provide life lesson coaching in a non-restrictive environment. Necessary skill set includes solving conflict, maintaining confidentiality, communicating in a positive manner, demonstrating ability to make timely decisions, and using time efficiently. Second shift positions are available. High school diploma / GED required. Position starts at $10.25 per hour. Heartland offers excellent benefits, including:

Crisis Counselors

Heartland Human Services is seeking Part time Crisis Intervention counselors to respond to adult psychiatric crisis in Effingham County. Applicants must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays and reach the hospital or jail within 90 minutes of the call. Applicants must possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field. Successful candidates must pass a background check meeting the requirements of the Illinois Healthcare Workers Registry; possess a valid driver's license and have strong computer skills. Experience working with children and families is a plus, but not required. Position pays $25 per hour while on crisis calls.

Outpatient Therapist - Clay City Location

Heartland Human Services is currently seeking recovery-oriented Outpatient Therapists to join our successful team of professionals. The ideal candidate should possess a Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work or other human service field. Degree must qualify for Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) status in the state of Illinois. Individuals not possessing licensure must achieve such within a mutually agreed upon time frame. A Bachelor's Degree with five year of experience in counseling may be used in lieu of a Master's degree. Experience working with children and families is a plus, but not required. 

Responsibilities include: following agency policies and procedures; providing outpatient therapy in individual and/or group settings for children, adolescents, and their families to address emotional and behavioral concerns. Full benefit package available.

Substance Use Counselor

Heartland Human Services is currently seeking a recovery-oriented Substance Use Counselor to join our successful team of professionals. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or other human service field. Certification in the State of Illinois as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) from the Illinois Alcoholism and other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA) is required. An individual with a Bachelor's degree who does not possess CADC certification may be hired for this position, however, the individual must achieve such certification within a time frame established by Heartland Human Services. 

Responsibilities include: following agency policies and procedures; assessment and treatment of persons with substance use problems, including abuse of alcohol, tobacco, and/or other drugs. To provide treatment in the least restrictive environment possible, promote consumer responsibility and significant other involvement in the treatment process, subscribes to the recovery model for treatment services, and treats consumers with dignity and respect. Makes referrals to community resources as appropriate. Activities may include individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, case management, consumer advocacy, prevention and education. First Responder Care Coordinator

Heartland Human Services is seeking a full time Care Coordinator to join our team of professionals. This position provides treatment and case management to persons whose lives are disrupted by an opioid overdose across a 12 county area. Treatment is provided in the least restrictive environment possible, promotes consumer responsibility and significant other involvement in the treatment process, subscribes to the recovery model for treatment services, and treats consumers with dignity and respect. Activities may include case coordination and management, including referrals to treatment providers, consumer support and advocacy, prevention and education, either on site or in clients own environment as needed and requested. This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in social work or related field. Experience in substance use treatment is preferred. The successful candidate must pass a background check meeting the requirements of the Illinois Healthcare Workers Background check, possess a valid driver's license, shall be capable of maintaining a flexible work schedule to meet the needs of the position.
